MSK Podiatry Treatment
What are MSK Podiatry Treatments?
An MSK Podiatry Consultation begins with a detailed history to exclude any conditions such as prior injuries, or health issues which may affect your gait and foot posture.
Examination of the feet is not done in isolation but will involve dynamic gait & posture analysis and evaluation of related joints and biomechanics, imbalances, instabilities, and motor-muscle movement timing which may impede your smooth, functional gait. The examination may be supplemented with special orthopaedic tests, cinematic gait analysis and MSK ultrasound examination.
The aim is to thoughtfully analyse and identify potential direct and indirect causation of your foot pain, and then treat any reversible causes. Your body will change during treatment so follow-ups may be useful to tune, guide, and react to your management as pain reduces and function improves. For example, custom insoles may require adjustments to accommodate these changes.
Our services include the following:
1-MSK Podiatry Limited Consultation (30 minutes):
This consultation includes an assessment of one body part, with a diagnostic ultrasound provided if necessary.
2-Comprehensive MSK Podiatry Consultation (1 hour):
This in-depth consultation includes a posture assessment, video gait analysis, and a biomechanical evaluation. If required, a diagnostic ultrasound will be conducted, and measurements for custom orthotics will be taken if indicated.
3-Bespoke Orthotics Prescription:
A personalized orthotics prescription service that includes fitting and a complimentary first follow-up session.
Please come with shorts or sports leggings for the assessment. Also, please bring your medical correspondence which may be helpful.

Who Can Benefit from MSK Podiatry Treatment?
Individuals experiencing chronic foot pain, knee pain, or lower back discomfort related to gait and posture.
Those with flat feet, high arches, or other structural foot issues that affect mobility.
Athletes or active individuals who experience recurring foot or ankle pain and require support for high-impact activities.
Patients needing corrective support to improve posture and reduce strain on the feet and lower limbs.
Toenail surgery
What and when toe nail surgery?
Toenail surgery may be considered for onychocryptosis (ingrown toenail) when conservative treatments—such as proper nail trimming, warm soaks, antibiotics, or topical applications—fail to provide relief. Surgery is typically a last resort if the condition causes persistent pain, recurrent infections, or significant discomfort despite non-invasive care. Additionally, if the ingrown toenail impairs daily activities or leads to complications such as abscesses or skin damage, surgical intervention may be necessary. The procedure usually involves partial or complete nail avulsion, sometimes with the removal of underlying tissue to prevent recurrence.

Who Can Benefit from Toe Nail Surgery?
Individuals experiencing persistent pain, recurrent infections, or significant discomfort despite conservative treatments.
Patients who have an ingrown toenail that affects daily activities or quality of life
Individuals who develop complications such as abscesses, skin damage, or chronic inflammation

Focused Shock-Wave Therapy
What is Focused Shock-Wave Therapy?
Focused shock-wave therapy, also known as Extracorporeal Shock Wave Therapy (ESWT), is a non-invasive treatment used to repair damaged or degenerative soft tissues, including muscles, tendons, ligaments, and joints. By delivering focused energy waves to specific areas, ESWT promotes the regeneration of tissue, reduces pain, and accelerates healing.
It is highly effective for conditions like plantar fasciitis and other soft tissue injuries, offering a proven alternative to more invasive treatments. This therapy is particularly useful for those with chronic pain or soft tissue injuries that have not responded well to other treatments.

Who Can Benefit from Focused Shock-Wave Therapy?
Individuals with ligament dysfunction/ degeneration, bursopathy and tendinopathy
Patients suffering from conditions like Plantar fasciopathy, tibialis posterior dysfunction, Achilles tendinopathy.
Individuals may consider SW as a first line management, as it does not have the potential side effects such as acceleration of degeneration that may be encountered with corticosteroid injections.
Ultrasound-Guided Injection Therapy
(Coming Soon)
What is Ultrasound-Guided Injection Therapy?
Ultrasound-guided injections provide targeted relief for joint pain and inflammation through the use of ultrasound imaging, allowing our clinicians to precisely deliver treatment to the affected area. We offer injections of cortisone, hyaluronic acid, or ozone, depending on the patient’s condition and treatment goals.
Ultrasound guidance ensures the accuracy and safety of each injection, reducing pain and improving therapeutic outcomes. This therapy is ideal for patients who need precise, targeted relief from joint or soft tissue pain.

Who Can Benefit from Ultrasound-Guided Injections?
Those in chronic ankle/foot pain, potential sub-acute inflammatory conditions, and/or degenerative arthrosis, tendinosis, bursopathy.
Those seeking a minimally invasive safe non surgical option for symptomatic ganglion, aspiration.
People who have not found relief from analgesics or physiotherapy, osteopathy, chiropractic.

Testimonials
Judy Campillo
I went to Thomas with sharp heel pain which he diagnosed as plantar fasciitis via an ultrasound.
Since having only 3 shock waves therapy sessions with him, the pain has gradually improved which I am very thankful for.
Highly recommended!

Since getting custom made orthotics, I had reduction in foot and ankle pain and can therefore walk for longer. There is also much greater stability in my ankles, feet and hips too. The assessment was very thorough as was the follow up care too. Thomas took time to listen to the issues and concerns I have relating to my feet.
